Identity verification runs once through Stripe Connect, only when you set up your first payout. Harmonia never sees your SSN or bank details.
You never hand your Social Security number to Harmonia. The one verification step runs through Stripe, on Stripe's own pages, and Harmonia never sees your SSN or bank details. It happens once, only when you are about to get paid, and it earns you a Verified badge that brands can see.
You earn the commission the brand sets, in full. The 20% platform fee is billed to the brand, so it is never taken out of your payout. Verification is the step that lets us send that money to your bank.
When verification happens
Verification is triggered the first time a brand approves you and you set up payouts. Not at signup. Browsing programs and applying to them are unblocked from day one, so there is nothing to verify until you have a brand approval and are ready to be paid.

There is no rush to verify early
You do not need to verify before you have a brand approval. Apply first. When a brand approves you and you are ready to get paid, we walk you through Stripe setup then. Verifying early does not move you up any queue.
How verification works through Stripe
We use Stripe Connect Express to verify identity and to pay you. This is called KYC, which stands for "know your customer" and is the standard identity check behind paying people online.
Here is the flow, step by step:
- A brand approves your application. This is what opens payout setup for that program.
- You open Stripe to finish verification. From your athlete settings, you go to Stripe's hosted pages to enter your details.
- You enter your details with Stripe directly. Your legal name, address, the personal information Stripe needs to confirm your identity, and your bank account for payouts.
- Stripe confirms you. Once Stripe verifies your identity, your profile shows the Verified badge and your payouts can run.
The whole identity and bank step lives on Stripe's pages, not ours. You type your information into Stripe, and Stripe sends back only a yes-or-no on whether you are verified.
Adding your bank details
Your bank account is where your payouts land, and you add it inside Stripe during verification, on the same hosted pages.
- You enter your bank details with Stripe, not Harmonia. Account and routing numbers go straight to Stripe.
- We never see your bank information. Harmonia gets a confirmation that you are set up to be paid, nothing more.
- You can update your bank details later from your Stripe Connect dashboard, linked from your athlete settings.
What Harmonia never sees
This is the part worth saying plainly: your most sensitive information never reaches us.
- Your SSN. Entered with Stripe, on Stripe's pages. We never see it or store it.
- Your bank account and routing numbers. Entered with Stripe. We never see them or store them.
- Your full identity documents. Held by Stripe as your verification provider.
We never ask for a code in your bio
Harmonia will never ask you to paste a code in your social bio, or to send your SSN or bank details over email or chat, to prove who you are. The only place you ever enter that information is Stripe's own verification pages, reached from your athlete settings. If anyone asks you to verify another way, it is not us.
The Verified badge
Once Stripe confirms your identity, your profile shows a Verified badge.
- What it means: you have cleared identity verification (KYC) and are set up to be paid.
- Who sees it: brands reviewing your application see it as a trust signal.
- How often you earn it: once. After your first verification, the badge carries across every program you join.
Brands on Harmonia curate for genuine fit, and a Verified badge tells them you are a real, payable partner. It is one more reason a brand approves you, alongside the brands you actually use and back.
What gets gated, and what does not
Only one thing on Harmonia is gated by verification: getting paid. Everything before that stays open.
- Open without verification: browsing the catalog, seeing real program terms, applying to programs, getting approved by a brand.
- Gated by verification: receiving your first payout.
So you can find the brands you use, apply, and get approved with no verification at all. The KYC step waits until the moment it actually matters, which is when money is about to move to your bank.
